Norma Doyle, 63 of Carthage, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 of natural causes. Norma was born October 7, 1941 in Middle Creek, Illinois the daughter of Waldo Jackson and Delphine Elizabeth [Burrows] Phillips. On December 14, 1957 she was united in marriage to Donald Doyne Doyle at the First Christian Church in Carthage. Norma was a CNA at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage. Norma enjoyed hummingbirds and her flowers and garden. She was also a fan of country and religious music. Her greatest love was her family and the time she spent with them. She especially enjoyed playing cards with her sister Helen and her grandchildren. She also spent a lot of time coloring with her grandchildren. Norma always looked forward to company and Sunday afternoons in particular because all her children would come over. She was very proud of the deck that Rex, Bryant, and Susie built and lived for the time that she could sit out on it with her husband and others. Norma is survived by her husband, Donald of Carthage, 7 children, Rex [Susan] Doyle of Basco, Donnie [Shannon] Doyle of Carthage, Wilma [Bob] Leake of Heyworth, Connie [Mike] Wright of Basco, Carla [Mike] Link of Carthage, Julie[Doug] Bollin of Carthage, and Michael [Crystal] Doyle of Carthage; 13 grandchildren, Bryany Doyle, Brokk and Hunter Doyle, Ryan and Brandon Leake, Dustin and Chelsea Wright, Angela and Mikey Link, Deanna and Denton Bollin, and Kristen and Megan Doyle. Two sister's, Rose Hopson of Hamilton, Ill. and Helen Sanderson of Carthage; one brother, Russell "Jake" [Ruth]Phillips of Tennessee, Ill; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert "Bob" Phillips.
